Tevez - Title Still Possible

Carlos Tevez insists Manchester City can still win the Premier League title after Saturday's 6-1 win at Norwich kept the pressure on leaders Manchester United at the top.

City remain second favourites in the betting to lift the title but have given themselves hope with two impressive displays in the space of five days.

Tevez scored a hat-trick in the rout at Carrow Road as he continues to redeem himself following over five months out and the Argentinean, unlike his manager, seems to believe the title dream is still very much alive.

"Of course we can still win the title. Obviously we have to put pressure on United. We just need to continue to play the way we are and we will arrive and the top. Mathematically it's not impossible."

The striker, who seemed destined to leave City in January but failed to seal a move away, has returned to Roberto Mancini's side in recent weeks and helped boost their goal-difference with a treble on Saturday to add to the goal he got in the 4-0 win over West Brom on Wednesday.

He admitted it had been a difficult spell out but thanked his team-mates for welcoming him back into the fold at the Etihad Stadium.

"I am very happy that I played very well today but the most important thing is that I want to say thank you to my colleagues for all the support they have given me since I arrived," he added on City TV.

"It wasn't easy coming back to training and to play but they have given me a lot of support and the technical staff have been very good to me too. I really appreciate everyone's help."

City's win came before United's victory over Aston Villa on Sunday that again means they are five points ahead but the Manchester derby at the end of the month could see the gap closed again if City can secure a win in what will be one of the biggest soccer games of the season.
